Eco Abet spearheaded an effort to improve Lykins Square, a park located in a diverse community in NE Kansas City. PLAID was initially invited to provide planning and design ideas for park enhancements through a day-long workshop. After the workshop, we continued with work to refine the overall master plan, provided cost estimating, coordinated efforts for phasing, and presented to the neighborhood community. The master plan includes many amenities, such as soccer fields, gathering areas, expanded play opportunities, an exercise trail, stormwater features, places for performance, and security assets. Lykins Square Park is an important link and place for a thriving, passionate community.
