Prairie Star Parkway : The design of Prairie Star Parkway reflects and pays homage to the original, yet soon-to-be-lost, native prairie landscape of the corridor. The design features indigenous or localized plant materials, including flowing masses of native grasses and wildflowers. Limestone pillars recall the Kansas limestone fencepost, and denote key gateways and intersections. Nine limestone pillars 12 to 20 feet in height occupy a roundabout and serve as a dramatic visual icon by day and night.
