Cerner World HQ Campus [North Kansas City] : The 88-acre Cerner Corporation World Headquarters Campus began as a speculative office park in the mid-1970s.  It included six existing office buildings and surface parking linked only by a public street.  Ultimately, Cerner occupied all of the buildings and initiated an ambitious program to transform the disconnected park into a dynamic and identifiable campus that would meet their operational needs, support their corporate culture, and express an image appropriate for their organization.
The initial master planning effort addressed new and infill buildings, parking, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, outdoor spaces, and campus image and identity. The completed master plan guided the design and implementation of the new World Headquarters, Clinic, Development Center, and Data Center facilities. Associated site improvements included new outdoor spaces, a pedestrian circulation system that links all facilities, and a distinctive campus identity and wayfinding package.

Rick Howell and Brett Payton led the master planning effort, and provided site design, construction document, and construction administration services while working with GEA.
