McCamish Pavilion at Georgia Tech [Atlanta, GA] : Built in 1956, the Alexander Coliseum at Georgia Tech underwent the process of major building and site renovations starting in 2010. Tucked into the urban fabric of Atlanta, the existing site posed various challenges due to extensive elevation changes, inadequate pedestrian space and identity, and extensive campus design requirements. The design concept for the site was closely integrated with the architecture. The site, and building elements were conceptually rotated, which A number of site elements were incorporated into the design, such as vehicular circulation, pedestrian arrival and sequence, biodetention areas, sculptural landforms, and a courtyard with abstract sculptural components.
